Abstract

This article uses a brief analysis as a means of identifying several significant and interesting elements of social nature which are relevant for current mission activities due to their timelessness. Given the appealing nature of their content and contribution to mission activities in theory and practice, all those interested in Christian mission and mission activities or service should bear them in mind. These elements are explicitly present in various contexts in Church documents, encyclicals, and professional books and articles on mission activities. Especially in the area of helping professions focused on mission activities, it is necessary for helping (mission) workers to learn to apply these elements in practice and use them in their personal lives at the level of personal and spiritual growth. The first pillar of the analysis is searching for connections between a social study of the Church and Church mission activities, and searching for elements of a missionary nature in the social study of the Church. The second pillar is the encyclical Deus caritas Est, which is not perceived as a social encyclical of the social study of Church. However, it contains significant links to this study, as well as social elements important for today’s society.
