Abstract

The theme of the diploma work is "The Mission of the Church - missio ad gentes and the new evangelization in the modern world". In it, we take a closer look at some half a century of the Church's life, from the convening of the Second Vatican Council to the last documents of Pope Francis, in terms of understanding the missio ad gentes and the new evangelization. During this period, the theology of the mission ad gentes deepened, its topicality was questioned, and the need for a new evangelization or for the revival of faith in environments and societies that were traditionally Christian crystallized more and more. The new evangelization itself is not new in its essence, as we have seen since apostolic times that individuals have encouraged the revival of the faith, but in the face of secularization and globalization and the events that have marked the world and triggered unstoppable processes in recent decades, especially current, it is new.
