An analysis of St. Paul’s life and his teaching leads to the conclusion that his mystical experience was the source of his active evangelism activities. Mystical experience is the highest state of spiritual life that depends on a person's union with Christ. The Bible contains two descriptions of the spiritual life of the apostle Paul, the mystical vision on the way to Damascus (Acts 9:1-19) and the "ascension" (2 Cor 12:1-11). These not only fundamentally changed Paul's spiritual and moral life, but turned the persecutor into a zealous apostle and missionary.
