This writing is a debt repayment. My personal debt. In 1948, when at my first try I was not accepted to the Lutheran Theological Academy, I became a student at the Mission School of Nagytarcsa. I met here with the mission first, and some of us who were there were seriously preparing for the missionary service. Then, in 1950, they were admitted to the Academy, and later the Institute of the Mission ceased, and - I must confess - I was faded responsibility for the mission. Now that I have to balance my life slowly, I have to repay my debt to the mission, which is why I started doing this job. It is also about debt repayment for our Lutheran Church in Hungary. Not only did the Mission Institute of Nagytarcs disappear, but the voice of the mission has also disappeared, and may have been mutilated throughout our church. In 1991, thanks to God, it is new opportunities have been opened: the Evangelical Foreign Ministry Association has been resumed, created the mission law in our church and a new Mission Center was established. Dr. Anne-Marie Kool described in her dissertation, God moves in a mysterious way in detail and with a high academic standard the summary of the missionary attitude and activities of the Protestant Churches of Hungary, the history of the Hungarian mission. So something started. However, a global mission history - in spite of minor writings - has not been published in Hungarian. It is also a debt: to pass on the global story of mission to a wider audience - young and older, theologians and interested Christians. I would like to repay this debt as well. Finally, a suggestion: it is advisable to keep a map while reading this book, keeping track of the way in which the Lord Jesus Christ is in the world. So this scripture could become "investigative," and the case of Jesus, the mission is our personal matter. The responsibility for reading and studying can even be our common debt repayment.
