An annotated translation of a Latin diary of the Czech Jesuit missionary of the 17th-18th century in Russia. Jiří David of Zdic was priest for only five years, doctor of philosophy for two years, and he earned the first spurs as a Hebrew teacher at Olomouc University; it can be said that he "trained" for missions in the prison and Olomouc hospitals. The historical realities from Russia, which he describes, will be very interesting for the reader.
