Abstract
It goes without saying that the evangelization begins with the Gospel itself. So, in order to get some information about how the evangelization is meant and described in the Gospel we have chosen three significant texts. The first one is the beginning of the Gospel according to Mark (1:1-8), which begins indeed with the words »The beginning of the gospel about Jesus Christ, the Son of God.« (Mk 1:1). Then, it continues with the appearance of John the Baptist, who »was in the desert, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.« (Mk 1:4) and announced the arrival of someone who is more powerful than he (Mk 1:7-8). In addition, Mark also describes John the Baptist’s modest food and clothing, in order to indicate that evangelization does not depend only on how one speaks, but also on how one lives. The second chosen text comes also from the Gospel according to Mark and describes the mission of the Twelve (Mk 6:6-13.30). Jesus sent them out two by two and gave them the authority over the unclean spirits, as well as instructions which means what they can bring with them in their mission. The third text is from the Gospel according to Luke, who speaks about the mission of other seventy[two] disciples (10:1-12), which points out that the preaching the Gospel is task not only of a restricted circle of the church ministries, but it concerns every Christian.
