Abstract
This paper focuses on the approach to inculturation within the tradition of the Roman Catholic Church, particularly as it applies to the pastoral tasks of evangelization, catechesis, theology and pastoral care. This reflection has emerged from recent experiences of U.S. volunteers who served in positions of cross-cultural ministry throughout Central and Eastern Europe. It proceeds as follows: first, a definition of inculturation; second, principles for the development of inculturation; and third, a proposed method of inculturation for the pastoral task within the Catholic Church.
