This study aims to describe the history and current social and cultural situation of Central Asia, as well as the religious situation centered on Islam, and to present missionary suggestions based on these descriptions. To do this, this study has first examined the history of the current national divisions and each ethnic group in Central Asia and the current situation of each nation. And then it has specifically examined the community structure including clans that still have an important influence on everyday life of Central Asian people. With regard to the religious situation, it has examined the history of the spread of Islam, the basic characteristics of Central Asian Islam, the current status and prospects of Islamic fundamentalism, and the religious policies and situations of each country. Finally, based on these descriptions, this study proposed community-oriented missions, an more accurate understanding of Central Asian Islam, and missionary work in line with Central Asian religious policies.
