Abstract

This chapter seeks to contribute to the present volume from a mainline Protestant perspective. As it is admittedly close to impossible to include all geographical contexts within the broader region of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) within the scope of one chapter, the chapter opts for an arguably narrower, yet hopefully viable approach to make its case. In particular, it takes the example of a single mainline Protestant church in a single country, namely, the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren (ECCB), suggesting that the findings and observations made with regard to this faith community will be of wider relevance beyond.
