Abstract

Today, the church must fulfill its mission in a world whose dynamics and direction have changed rapidly, a world that is becoming radically different from what the church has experienced in previous times. What are the main changes that have taken place in society? What can we call this new worldview? How will the church be able to fulfill God's mission in this new socio-cultural context? What kind of change should take place in the church so that it keeps the message revealed and develops its relevance in the world? What kind of church is needed for today's society? These are some questions that churches at the beginning of the 21st century try to answer, answers that generated new movements and ecclesiological models. This new philosophy is called postmodernism. So today, in general, the church is called to act in a philosophical and cultural variety, the interference between modernity and postmodernity. The Eastern European space creates an even different context from what is happening in the world, namely, the interference between post-communism, modernism and postmodernism. The purpose of this article is to bring the reader into the space of these debates and turmoil in search of an Eastern European evangelical ecclesiological model, and this will occur through an understanding of postmodern culture and new ecclesiological models.
