The publication "Strategic Guidelines for the Development of Religious Education in Bulgaria" summarizes the 20 years of experience of teachers and catechists in teaching Religion in secondary schools and religious education in church schools, offering concrete steps for the development of religious education in the future. The study is based on a series of seminars held in Ruse under the patronage of Metropolitan Nahum of Ruse, which was attended by clergy, university professors, teachers and members of the public involved in the cause of religious education. The starting point of the author's team (Dr. Polina Spirova, Dr. Zlatina Karavalcheva and Tsvetomira Antonova) is the analysis of the current state of religious education in Bulgaria, and the proposed strategic guidelines do not present a desired but unrealistic situation of the future of religious education in us, but proceed from the objective facts and peculiarities of public and church life. The specific steps proposed in the publication are in accordance with the state of the subject Religion and religion in the country. Three directions are presented in which the efforts of the participants in the process should be directed: organizational support, didactic support and overcoming the stereotypes in the society towards religious education.
