The reconciling task of proclamation. The call of our time is: tolerance, dialogue and reconciliation. Dialogue between churches should be based on openness and honesty; everyone should seek reconciliation in unity and truth. In modern secularized society, inner mission is an urgent need, because the renewal of the church is through inner mission. Mission means evangelism and martyrdom (witness). Proselytism is not evangelism but a testimony. New evangelization is a call to repentance and new life in the power of the Holy Spirit. The missionary proclamation is an invitation of people to believe in Jesus Christ; it is the prerequisite for every sermon. The reconciliation realized in Christ is to be conveyed through the missionary proclamation as reconciliation with God and man. Church proclamation should always be in the service of reconciliation.
