Abstract

Today many pastors are struggling to adapt to a post-Christian culture without abandoning orthodox theology. How do we communicate the concepts of grace and substitutionary atonement in our globalized culture and context? In Center Church Europe, Timothy Keller offers challenging insights and provocative questions based on over twenty years of ministry in New York City, organized around three core commitments: GOSPEL-CENTERED CITY-CENTERED MOVEMENT-CENTERED In this European edition, edited by dr. Stefan Paas, eight theologians have written a reaction to Keller's original observations. Contributors are Leonardo De Chirico, Michael Herbst, Frank Hinkelmann, Martin de Jong, Jens Bruun Kofoed, Daniel Liechti, András Lovas, David Novak, Stefan Paas, Martin Reppenhagen and José de Segovia. The European Evangelical Alliance has added a Postscript with its vision of church developments in Europe. Thus Center Church Europe gives a unique view of city mission in America, gospel preaching in Europe, and the differences between them.
