Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze the activities and theology of the Komi church. The first part provides a short overview of the history of the Protestant churches in the Republic of Komi in general and the Komi church in particular. Then we analyze the general ethic understanding of the Komi church and the specific approach that this church uses to adapt Protestant teachings to the contemporary life of this ethnic group. These topics are interpreted in the framework of the overall religious changes taking place in the Republic of Komi connected to the development of the interconfessional dialogue in the region.
