The Reformation of the sixteenth century restored to the Church an important biblical truth: faith in the atoning sacrifice of Christ as a necessary and sufficient condition for salvation. Thus, the foundation for humanity's personal relationship with God was restored. The contribution asserts that the task today is to restore the original image of God's people - the Church, as well as catholicity and sobornost' as the true content of the life of the Church.
