The fundamental missionary principles of the Orthodox Church stem from, and continue to emanate from the incarnation of the Logos. Based on the fundamental principle of the incarnation of the Logos at any time and in any place, and as a result of this, the Church has also followed other principles, which are inextricably linked to each other: a) The principle of the diversity of languages b) The second principle is associated to exceeding nationalism and to the dynamic and persuasive proclamation of the Gospel of universal love c) The third principle refers to culture d) The fourth principle relates to the diaconal and transformative work of the Church in the world The greatest and most representative historical period with the application of these principles is the period when Saints Cyril and Methodius engaged in their missionary work to the Slavic peoples. This study stresses that the legacy of the Thessalonian brothers, who transcended time and history, became especially important and relevant in contemporary ecumenical challenges and is considered as a standard in modern Christian missionary work. Similarly, the study analyzes where the timeliness of the missionary principles and the work of the brothers Cyril and Methodius lies.
